Mechanic (Diesel)

Diesel is a fuel which is used to generate mechanical power. Obviously, to generate mechanical power, we need some machines which are most popular as diesel engines. Diesel engines are commonly used in automobiles. Diesel engines are also used in DG Sets to generate electric power. A Diesel mechanic is a craftsman or technician who deals with diesel engines to repair and maintain it. Repair and maintenance of automobile vehicles including mechanical & electrical parts is also covered during training. Trainees get knowledge of theory and practical related with engine, fuel supply, transmission, steering, braking, suspension, electrical circuit diagram etc.

Trainees have opportunity to get employment in Railways, Roadways, Armed Forces, Automobile manufacturing companies, Power Plants, Public Sector Companies, Authorized dealers of automobile companies, Private Garage etc. Besides of salaried employment in various establishments, Mechanic Diesel may join the field of engineering teaching & training or self employment by establishing own workshop or garage.
